GEOMETRY A/B
Grades: 9, 10, 11, 12;
2 Semesters, Prerequisite = Algebra 1 or Algebra 1 Accel
Geometry is a study of points, lines and planes in two or three dimensions. Emphasis is placed on organization and reasoning skills through the study of triangles, circles, similarity, area, and volume.

This course is an in-depth review of previous math courses as well as an introduction to topics such as
exponential and logarithmic functions, sequences and series, and analytic geometry. This course is a preparation
for calculus. Seniors in the top 1/2 and Juniors in the top 1/3 of their class have the opportunity to earn 5
credit hours at Southwest Minnesota State University for Math 135 (Pre-Calculus).
