Classes

LANGUAGE ARTS 11 Grade: 11; 2 Semesters, Required The focus will be on three aspects- speaking, writing, and literature. Previously learned speaking skills will be reviewed and practiced. Students will be required to deliver oral presentations, including a 7-8 minute presentation. The writing component will include analysis, comparison and contrast, and the research paper. Vocabulary, grammar, and punctuation will be incorporated throughout. American literature will be a main focus of Language Arts 11, including novels such as My Antonia and Fahrenheit 451. Short stories, essays and poetry from the 18th, 19th, and 20th centuries will be covered. Minnesota authors will also be studied.
