FHS Daily Announcements - Thursday, October 31st 

-Reminder- JO Evaluations are only a few days away!!      

Evaluations for the 2024-2025 Foley JO Season is scheduled for this Sunday, November 3rd in the field house. All players will need to have registered for evals and have payment completed prior to evaluations. Go to our website to register: www.foleyjovb.com. This is very important for team placement on the JVA website. Please come 30 minutes prior to your scheduled time to check in with the JO Board at the tables.

Times:

Grades 4th-6th: 4:30-6:00 PM

Grades 7th-8th: 6-7:30 PM

Grades 9th-11th: 7:30-8:30 PM   

 

-There is no After School Program today. Happy Halloween! 

 

-Please excuse the boys CC team at 12:15 for the State Walk-Through. They are to meet in the entryway by the office. Those only doing the walk-through will report to 4th hour when it's done. 

 

-Flex Stock Market Game Players:  For those already registered trading is open! If you're not registered you can still sign up to play!  Scan the code on Mrs. Bauerly's door. 

 

-As today is Halloween, the Student Council is hosting the Halloween costume contest! If you have dressed up in a costume and would like to participate, please stop by Mr. Johnson’s room, room number 325, during flex time! After judging the costumes, one student from each grade will win a five dollar voucher for the Falcon nest! We hope to see you there!

 

-Seniors: your senior class picture has been moved to Tuesday. Meet on the football field at the start of Flex on Tuesday, November 5. Where your class T-shirt. If you did not order one, wear white or gray. 

 

AP Chemistry Students Please meet in Mr. Notsch's room at 7:45 on Friday, November 1st OR Wednesday, November 6th during FLEX

 

Seniors: St. Cloud Technical & Community College has a small number of openings for their Construction/Trade degrees. Both the AAS and Diploma Electrical Construction programs are waitlisting.  If you are considering any of these degrees as an option, get your application submitted! 

 

Seniors: TODAY is the LAST DAY of COLLEGE KNOWLEDGE MONTH! Just a quick reminder to get your college applications completed and submitted. Free application month ends TODAY. There are also colleges that have a November 1st (Friday) acceptance deadline for particular programs, especially the U of M Twin Cities Nursing Program. If you have questions or need help, please stop in the Guidance Office.

 

-All students: Big Brothers Big Sisters is looking for more High School students to volunteer as Bigs - especially Big Brothers!  Stop in the Guidance Office for more information.

 

-Attention All JuniorsThe ExCEL Award – Excellence in Community, Education and Leadership – is a unique recognition program designed exclusively for Minnesota high school juniors who are active in school activities, leaders in their schools, and who demonstrate a strong commitment to community service. This award is sponsored by the League's corporate partner TruStone Financial Credit Union. 

Every League member school is invited to nominate one girl and one boy for the ExCEL Award. Nominees must:

  •     Be a junior in high school
  •     Make satisfactory progress toward graduation
  • Participate in an MSHSL fine arts and/or athletic activity
  • Hold a leadership position(s) in their school
  • Volunteer in their community

Please pick up an application to be selected for the Award from Corri Gross in the FHS Office.  Applications are due to Mr. Inglis no later than November 25, 2024.

 

 

-Attention All Seniors: The Academics, Arts, and Athletics Award, commonly known as the Triple 'A' Award, honors high school seniors throughout the state who have a 3.0 or higher-grade point average and who participate in League-sponsored athletic and fine arts activities.  

To be eligible for the Academics, Arts, and Athletics Award a student must:

  • -Be a high school senior at the time of nomination. Schools may nominate one senior boy and one senior girl for this award.
  • -Have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher at the time of nomination.
  • -Participate in at least one League-sponsored athletic program and one arts/activity program.

Please pick up an application to be selected for the Award from Corri Gross in the FHS Office.  Applications are due to Mr. Inglis no later than December 2, 2024.

-“Friendly reminder to our student drivers from Officer Cody: Every vehicle must have 2 working headlights and headlights must be on between the hours of sunset to sunrise. Headlights must also be on when we are experiencing weather that affects our visibility on the roadway. Such as rain, snow, sleeting, hailing, or fog. Please ensure your headlights are in working condition and are on. See And Be Seen! Any questions or concerns, feel free to see me anytime. Thank you and drive safe!”
