-Attention Seniors: A reminder that October is College Knowledge Month. Take advantage of the colleges that are not charging an application fee. A list of the colleges/universities and what dates you can apply can be found at Minnesota Goes to College - Free Application Opportunity. Spend some time on your days off of school applying to college. Please let Kristi in the Guidance Office know if you need assistance.

-Juniors/Seniors: A reminder that during our October 17th & 18th school break is a great time to plan a campus visit.  Many colleges organize special programs and host open houses on these dates, you do not miss your high school classes and you still have two excused days for further college research. Search college websites for college visit/campus tour dates/times/activities and register online.   Refer to your FHS College Prep newsletter that you received in your email in September for more college and career information. If you have any questions, please see us in the Guidance Office.

-Juniors and Seniors: If you are interested in the Military and would like to take the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery test, please sign up with Kristi in the Guidance Office by Thursday, November 7th.   The test will be given here at FHS on Thursday, November 14th during 4th and 5th period. **Taking the ASVAB does not commit you to anything, but a military recruiter may contact you. “Friendly reminder to our student drivers from Officer Cody: It is a violation for any vehicle to travel above the posted speed limit. Yes most Officers, Deputies, and Troopers will not make a traffic stop on a vehicle traveling 1-7 mph over the posted speed limit. But that does not mean it is not a violation of State Law. 21 mph or higher than the posted speed limit is mandatory court with additional surcharges and fines. 31 mph or higher than the posted speed limit results in you possibly being placed under arrest and your vehicle may get towed. Driving in excess of 100 mph may result in your driving license being revoked for an extended period of time. Please help ensure we are keeping ourselves and everyone else on the roadway safe. Driving is a privilege not a right! Any questions or concerns, feel free to see me anytime. Thank you and drive safe!”
