FEDERAL GOVERNMENT Grade: 12; 1 Semester, Ability = All, Required This class will examine the basis of our Federal System (The Constitution and the relationship between our National and State governments). In addition, we will study how the national government operates by looking at the political process, political parties, the powers and functions of each of the three branches. The objective is to encourage a better understanding of American democracy. "OR" COLLEGE POLITICAL SCIENCE POLITICAL SCIENCE 111-DEMOCRATIC CITIZENSHIP: American National Government Grade: 12, 1 Term, Ability = Above Average; 3 College Credits. Students will earn 3 credits in Political Science through St. Cloud State University. Students must be in the top one-half of their graduating class in order to qualify for this course. Political Science 111 is an introduction to American government and politics. During this Term, students will examine three fundamental themes: the foundations of government, its institutions, and political behavior. The goal for this course is to acquire political knowledge of the American government and daily lives in the last two centuries. |
