| BUSINESS LAW Grades: 10, 11, 12; 1 Term, Ability = All Business law is an exciting and essential course for everyone preparing for the world of work and for life itself. Students will study various topics which include: Civil Law, Torts: Duties to Others, Contracts, Responsibilities of Parents to their Children, Rights and Responsibilities as an Employee, Consumer Law, Working with a Lawyer, and Trials in Civil Courts. The student will study current issues that will affect them as they leave school and enter the world. Also covered in this course is Criminal Law. The course will help students better understand their rights given to them by the Constitution and the various statutes. Students will get an overall view of the criminal justice process, including the courts and the corrections system.
