| SOUND EFFEX Grades: 9, 10, 11, 12; 1 Term, 1 credit The student will demonstrate their knowledge of music and the technology presented using the following elements of performance: program changes to enhance tone color, accurate rhythm, correct pitches, form of the composition, presentation of the piece, and incorporation of styles.
Sound Effex is a music composition class which uses computers to compose, edit, structure, and create music compositions. The focus of the course is to help students be musically creative without having to learn to play a traditional band instrument. Some knowledge of music is helpful but not required. Some keyboard experience is helpful but not required. Using MIDI hardware and music software: The student will understand the expressive and technical elements of an art form. The student will understand the creative decision making process in studying the music. The student will incorporate the appropriate use of technology. |
