| COLLEGE SPEECH/COMMUNICATIONS 110 GRADE: 12; 1 Term, Ability: above average; Prerequisite: top half of graduating class, Elective; 3 college credits Most colleges require an introductory college speech course. This class will meet that requirement and allow students to earn 3 term college credits while attending high school. This course teaches the use of verbal and nonverbal communication along with an emphasis on research skills in order to organize and deliver four effective oral presentations: impromptu, extemporaneous, persuasive, and a group presentation. Additional emphasis is placed on identifying and overcoming listening barriers. |
