CREATIVE WRITING Grades: 11, 12; 1 Term, Elective Creative Writing is an elective English class in which students will explore various aspects of creative or imaginative writing. Students will examine the expected forms: poetry, short story, drama and nonfiction and the techniques and elements related to these forms. With each form, students will write a range of styles to practice both the typical and maybe not so expected styles. By the end of the course, students will have completed a number of projects, including a memoir, a novella, a dramatic script, some oral presentations and numerous smaller projects. Students will be introduced to multiple forms and techniques but will be encouraged to develop particular skill or interest areas. |
