Students will construct holiday evergreen projects, do plant decoration projects, and build dish gardens as part of the class. During the second half of this class students will work on outdoor landscape related projects. Students will design and draw landscape plans, using computerized software, for a new home in Foley and have the opportunity to perform some of the installation work to learn the principles of landscaping around the home. Field trips to local homes will provide students with a chance to learn how to maintain the landscape by doing pruning and grafting work on trees and shrubs. Students will work with seeding and care of the home lawn including using pesticides on lawns, applying fertilizer, and maintenance of lawn mowing equipment.
