FHS Daily Announcements - Wednesday, February 21st

-There are still 5 more slots to fill for the Blood Drive. Please sign up in Ms. Gross' room today!! All donors will receive a $20 Amazon gift card!!

-All 11th graders must report to the Auditorium TOMORROW Thursday, Feb 22nd after 1st period with your laptop. Students will be creating your MyACT account in preparation for the ACT test. This must be completed in order for you to take the ACT!. *Make sure your computer is on and charged! Pick up your direction sheet in the entrance as you enter the auditorium 

-Seniors: Scholarship packet is due TOMORROW at 3:30pm. Stop by the guidance office if you have any questions or concerns. 

-National FFA Week! 

Wednesday:

*Trivia Questions for the day! First person to answer correctly wins a prize 

*FFA members can play bean bags in the Auto shop during Flex today

*During lunch, guess the amount of corn in the Jar to win a prize

Dress Up Days:

       Today: Blue and Gold Day (National FFA Colors)

       Thursday: Tractor Wear Day (Wear your favorite tractor color) 

       Friday: Flannel Friday 

-9th,10th,11th graders who did not turn in a completed registration form should do so ASAP to the guidance office. 

-Student Track workers are needed!  

If you are not in a spring sport but would still like to be involved in a spring activity, stop and see Corri in the high school office.  Students are needed to assist with several field events for home track meets and compensation is available.  Stop by to get your name on the list!

-Knowledge Bowl practice at 3:00pm in Mr. Hommerding’s room

-Congratulations to the following students in Mrs. Gross’ College Writing class who won the Optimist Essay Contest! Foley High School students claimed all the prizes this year! 

• 1^st place: $500 – Holly Braun, Foley High School
• 2^nd place: $250 – Chase Dahler, Foley High School
• 3^rd place: $150 – It was a tie! Brianna Miller, Foley High School & Ryann Pitts, Foley High School

Holly Braun will be entered into an area essay contest (the Dakotas, Manitoba, Minnesota District of Optimist International) where the first-place prize is a $2,500 scholarship. Good Luck Holly!

-”Friendly reminder to our student drivers from Officer Cody: MN Statute states all drivers must stop for a pedestrian in the crosswalk. Failure to do so may result in serious injury and/or a misdemeanor citation. A second offense within 1 year enhances to a gross misdemeanor. Always ensure we are being attentive drivers.
