FHS Daily Announcements - Wednesday, September 20th

-Any student 9th-12th grade that is interested in being a part of the Unified Club can come to a meeting TODAY, September 20th during Flex time. The meeting will take place in the wrestling room.  See Ms.Piepgras or Mr.Crowell with any questions.

-This week on Friday a grade review will be conducted. If you have any grade that is a D- or lower you will be restricted for Flex beginning on Monday 9/25/22 and lasting for three weeks. If you are on the restricted list you are required to stay in your assigned flex period (unless allowed to leave at teacher request).

If you would prefer to have freedom of movement and choice during your flex time, we encourage you to make every effort possible to have all grades at least at a D or higher by Friday. If you believe an error was made please see Mr. McMorrow.

-The Deficiency List will be run on Friday, September 22nd.  If you currently have a failing grade in any of your classes, you will be unable to participate in extracurricular competitions or activities effective Wednesday, September 27th. Please take this time to contact your teachers about how to bring your grade up to passing.  

-There will be a fishing club meeting Thursday during Flex in Mr. Carlson's room(woodshop).  This is for all students 9-12 to discuss fundraising, officers, and the jersey order.

-The conservation club will be having an all member meeting on Friday in Marod’s room during flex. It is open to anyone who is considering joining the club and for returning members!

-All 12th grade students must attend an informational session in the auditorium on Wednesday, September 27th during Flex time. See Kristi or one of the counselors in the Guidance Office with questions.

-For 11th or 12th graders with a GPA of 3.2 or higher, interested in joining Minnesota Honor Society, there will be an informational meeting during Flex THIS Thursday Sept 21 in Ms. Pelowski's Classroom. Mark your calendars. Please attend the meeting to learn more about MHS, specific requirements, as well as to get an application to apply to MHS. If you have any questions, please see Ms. Gross or Ms. Pelowski 

-Attention 11th and 12th grade students: ACT test registration deadline for the October 28th test is Friday, September 22nd. See the guidance office with any questions. 

-Attention 11th & 12th graders: Minnesota Education Fair will be held Tomorrow,  Thursday, September 21st, at Princeton High School from 1pm - 1:45pm. Up to 75 representatives from Public and Private Universities and colleges, community and technical colleges, and trade and career schools are expected to attend.  Students will need to register before attending the fair. Registration can be done here.

-Attention 11th grade students who are very strong test takers:

The Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test (PSAT) is an optional exam for 11^th grade students who test exceptionally well.  Any junior who feels he/she can score in the top ½ of 1% on the PSAT should take the test.  Taking the PSAT and scoring in the top ½ of 1% is the ONLY way to qualify for a National Merit Scholarship.  If you are interested in taking the test, it will be given at Foley High School on Tuesday, October 10^th   from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm. The registration deadline is Friday, September 29th. A $18.00 fee will be required when you register in the Guidance Office.  Please check in with Mr. Dahlstrom or Ms. McIntire with questions.
